Introduction
The Burundi Genocide is one of the biggest examples of a Human Rights Violation in the last 100 years. The victims and aggressors in the Burundi Genocide, were both the Hutu and Tutsi. The Hutu and Tutsi are two ethnic groups that live in Rwanda and Burundi and they have always been known to have a violent relationship. At the time of the Burundi genocide, 86 percent of Burundi's population were Hutus and 13 percent were Tutsi. Eventually, the relationship between the Hutu and Tutsi and the geographic location of the two ethnic groups became the leading factors to the Burundi Genocide.

Human Rights
A human right is a right that every human equally shares no matter what race, ethnic background, religion, or gender that person is. For the Burundi Genocide, the main human right that was violated is that everyone has the right to life (article 3).
